Quick and Easy Creamy Tuna Carbonara

Easy Tuna Carbonara
[slim_seo_breadcrumbs]

Whew! Just another day with my computer! After fixing some errors that occurred with the other sites that I handle, I will write down some articles and recipes next in line. It has been like this since we've started this site.

You, too, probably have some routine every day (it might not be similar to mine) that let time pass without you realizing it.

How about letting me give you a realistic scenario? Imagine — in the middle of your work, your nose suddenly detected something in the air carried by the wind from somewhere; it's the scent of sautéd garlic and onions!

Then you realized that dinner is just around the corner. But at the same time, that triggered you to jump out of the chair with the thought of, "I'm already late with my appointment in the kitchen!"

"There's no more time!" you said — Or so it seems. 😁

Good thing I know something in times like these. Let's prepare a hearty, creamy, quick and easy Tuna Carbonara to save the night!

We dedicate this recipe to our nephew, Austin. He’s been asking us countless times to teach him how to prepare a simple Tuna Carbonara; now it’s here. Enjoy Aus; this is for you!

Tools that you will need

  • Two cooking pots — A large one for pasta and a small one for the sauce.
  • A knife and chopping board.
  • Your trusted two-burner stove.
  • A strainer.
  • A cooking spoon. But for me, a stainless steel spoon will do the job too.

Ingredients
    Easy Tuna Carbonara Ingredients
  • 156 g Tuna (In can of your favorite brand.)
  • 400 g Spaghetti pasta (It can also be angel's hair, fettuccine, etc.)
  • 250 ml All-purpose cream
  • 150 g Cheese (Sliced and diced to melt them faster later.)
  • 200 g Button Mushroom (Sliced. But you can also get those already sliced in packets.)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 10 g Garlic (About 3-4 cloves. Minced.)
  • 35 g Onion (Medium sized. Chopped.)
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Iodized Salt (It's the amount of salt you will use for the sauce. A separate tablespoon of salt will be used for cooking the pasta.)
  • 1 tbsp Canola Oil (But for a better option, you can use 1 tbsp of Butter instead.)
  • Chopped Parsley (Optional)
Instructions
    Let's Start Cooking!
  1. Preparing the Pasta

Prepare a large and clean cooking pot (saucepan).

    • Boil 2 Liters of water with 1 tbsp of salt in it.
    • When the water starts boiling, put in the pasta and cook for 5-8 min, or according to the pasta packaging label's instructions, do not overcook.
    • Using a strainer, pour and drain the pasta with it and immediately rinse them in tap water.
    • Let the pasta sit in the strainer until there's no more water dripping from it.
    • Set aside.
To save time, it would help if you also cook the Tuna Carbonara sauce while waiting for the pasta to be cooked.
  2. Cooking the Tuna Carbonara SauceHearty Tuna Carbonara View1

Either prepare the same pot you used for cooking the pasta or use another saucepan for this procedure.

    • with the oil being heated enough (or butter for better option), sauté garlic to a golden brown.
    • Add in the onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
    • Put in the tuna and its oil and the sliced button mushrooms, mix/stir the ingredients well for 2 min.
    • Add the all-purpose cream and 1/2 cup of water.
    • Cover the lid simmer for 5-7 min.
    • Put the sliced and diced cheese, then stir the ingredients continuously until the cheese completely melts.
    • Add and mix the ground pepper and 1/2 tsp salt to taste.
    • Finally, if you have chopped parsley, which is optional, add it to the sauce and stir the ingredients continuously for another 30 seconds.
    • As for the pasta, please put it back in the same (already dried up) pot that we previously used to cook it.
    • Now that the sauce is cooked pour and mix it with the pasta.
It's time to enjoy your Creamy Tuna Carbonara! Serve them hot with garlic bread, if you prefer, to complete the Italian experience!
